The tool’s blades are curved with rounded tips, commonly used when an incision must be made through the periosteum. The Surtex Mead Periosteal Raspatory/Elevator is also very frequently used during oral surgeries. Double-ended with hexagonal handles, the pointed end is used to raise mucoperiosteal flaps from the attached gingiva around the tooth to be extracted.
