Obstetrical Lever

Obstetrical lever is an obstetrical surgical instrument, specially designed to complement the obstetric forceps to increase the accuracy of traction along the path of least anatomical resistance. It helps to draw the fetal head accurately from the maternal pelvis with minimal perineal injury or vaginal tears.

Bill Traction Handle

The obstetrics lever features a claw that is used for attachment to the finger guards of the obstetric forceps. This is then attached to a smooth, stainless steel handle grip via a vertical rod and movable joint. It is usually employed during complicated vaginal delivery to expedite the delivery of the fetus in cases of maternal exhaustion, uterine atony, PPH, Macrosomic baby, fetal distress or other causes of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. Our Obstetric levers include the specialized Bill Traction handle, which has an overall length of 7 ½ inches and serves to maximize traction while contouring the fetal head along the path of least soft tissue resistance.
